Accessible international exchange

Passing this along to any folks here who have a disability (blind or visual impairment, physical or mobility, learning, mental health-related, other non-apparent disability) or who are Deaf or hard of hearing AND interested in Fulbright, Peace Corps or other volunteer service, study abroad, overseas internships, language programs, or other international exchange programs. I know the organization sponsoring it, the National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange. They post stories written by/about people with disabilities who have returned from these sorts of programs (http://www.miusa.org/ncde/stories).

People in the U.S. disability and Deaf communities are invited for this half-day seminar and luncheon in Denver to discuss the ‘Who, What, Where and Why’ of international exchange, including overseas cultural, educational, professional and volunteer programs, for U.S. students, teachers, professionals and others with disabilities. Get tips for accommodation strategies, best practices, and other resources from a panel of international exchange alum who have disabilities.

This event is open only to U.S. citizens and residents of the U.S.
